Our guidelines say to wait:
7-10 days after finishing a course of antibiotics to swab
48 hours after using any vaginally inserted treatments (e.g., suppositories, boric acid, creams, gels)
24 hours since using any vulvar or topical creams and gels (e.g., HRT, steroid cream)
24-48 hours after taking any oral anti-fungals
